However, divination and seership has always played, and continues to play, an important role in Gaelic spirituality. A commonly known form of divination is known as the augury, using signs in nature to foretell events. The frith is a particular form of divination used by Saint Brighid. There are numerous divinatory games played at the Gaelic Fire Festivals, especially at Samhain. And we know as well that the stars were used to divine events and the character of individuals.

Currently lacking an authentic Gaelic astrology or divinatory system, Brighid’s Mantle offers classical Western astrology readings by a master astrologer, Teri Parsley Starnes, rich with years of studying the stars, wise in the ways of humans, and deeply informed by the beings of the Otherworld.

Teri says:

I use myth and story to enhance the information that is contained in a birthchart. In a consultation we will:

  • talk about your goals and dreams
  • look at the patterns set at your moment of birth
  • look at the immediate cycles you are experiencing in this moment
  • and look at the cycles that will be developing throughout the next 12 months

and the conversation will be enveloped in choice, self-awareness, and intention.

I offer in-person and long-distance sessions. My office is in Minneapolis, Minnesota. If you cannot meet with me, we will talk by phone or via Skype. Video calls are an option. For long-distance consultations: after we set up an appointment, I will mail you the charts and transits that we will be discussing in the reading so you may follow along while we talk. You will then call me, and I will record the session on a CD. I am available for follow-up questions by email at no extra charge.
