Fire of the Hearth – Restoration
The Fire of the Hearth branch is focused on cultivating Restoration in the forms of hearthcrafts, such as healing arts, culinary arts, hospitality, and birthing care.The ability to restore ourselves and one another is essential for our well-being as individuals and as a community. We explore healing touch, herbal arts, cooking, and culturing/fermenting foods as some of our specific methods for supporting health. In Celtic lore, much is made of the art of hospitality, helping others to feel welcome and at ease when away from their own homes.
Brighid is a Goddess of the Hearth, of healing and the midwifery arts. It is on the Hearth-fire that She would brew her healing teas from the herbs of the land, to be given to the sick and to women in labor. The Saint Brighid had the same gift of healing and gave it freely in her travels. Thus, the Fire of the Hearth ignites the flame of Restoration, through which we can again feel our wholeness and our sense of being “at home anywhere,” particularly in our own bodies.
Crystalline Ruby Muse is the director of the Fire of the Hearth branch. Offerings in this branch will include: classes on Celtic Tree Lore, herbal medicine-making, energy healing, and lacto-fermentation of foods; healing touch and doula services; and events such as healing circles.
